Is Amin really Maradona? The Neapolitan Ibello triumphs again with his Dialogues.

Giovanni Ibello continues to sweep prestigious awards. After winning the “Lerici Pea”, the oldest literary award in Europe by the coordinator Francesco Napoli’s own admission, the ambitious Neapolitan poet also wins the Calabria-Veneto 2023 award at the International Poetry Festival “Pollino in versi”. And the final result was far from obvious.

In fact, Ibello managed to triumph within a more than prestigious five, a list of names that boasted prominent figures of Italian poetry such as Giusi Busceti, poet and president of the Casa della poesia Trotter in Milan. Ibello won once again thanks to her “Dialogues with Amin”.

Published by Crocetti-Idee editoriali Feltrinelli, the work has already received its second international recognition. And as Milo De Angelis points out in the critical introduction, the city of Naples is very present within these pages. There is even a section of the book dedicated to the myth of Diego Armando Maradona. At this point it is legitimate to ask whether Amin is not really the Pibe de Oro in poetry. The critics will have to decide.
