Leading young people on the right path. It is the mission of Andrea Sannino who will be on stage in the musical “Mare fuori” with a role that, he explains, “due to the current news events in Naples of this period – he says – but also of the past is an educator role that I care a lot about.
I am a parent and I play a parent who teaches kids ages 15 to 18 that they are at a crossroads in life. A role that teaches me a lot, as an actor and as a parent.”
During the auditions, Sannino also spoke about the controversies of many politicians on TV series such as “Mare fuori” and “Gomorra” which would be responsible for the violent behavior of young people.
“I don’t agree – he explains – because it seems that there are young people who imitate those gestures that they see on TV, but these series have a theme of hope. Crime comes out of difficult families and the street.
Parents have a fundamental role: if I were to watch “Mare fuori” with my children, I would explain to them the truth about what is narrated in the series. If I think about what happened in Piazza Municipio (with the murder of Giovanbattista Cutolo, ed.) I know that there should be a severe punishment, but most kids have a chance of redemption.
I go with the association “Figli di Barabba” in Nisida, I have often been in the juvenile prison to see how they work on the change of the kids. Once I met a guy in Nisida and then after a while I met him who was catering at one of my concerts, it was a great moment. He confirmed to me that you can really do a lot for those who make mistakes”.
