The final event of the project “Giovani del Vesuvio”, with the inauguration of the redeveloped green area near the public car park on Via Regina Margherita.
There was a lot of interest and participants for the festive event, with tastings and music by the Compagnia del Cervo Bianco in the splendid setting of the new “Garden of Vesuvian flora” that was brought to life thanks to the project, with the presence of various native species and related information available via QR codes.
Begun in 2021 with the aim of redeveloping and enhancing the area through the active involvement of local young people, the project, promoted by the leader UNEC – Unione Nazionale Enti Culturali and the association Free Spirits on Tour (partner), in collaboration with the Oratorio San Domenico Savio of Trecase and the Mestieri Campania consortium, was made possible thanks to the synergy created with the municipal administration of Trecase and was co-financed by the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service – Presidency of the Council of Ministers, as part of the Action and Cohesion Plan, in response to the notice “Young people for the enhancement of public goods 2018”.
Great emphasis in the words of the lawyer Raffaele De Luca, Mayor of Trecase and President of the Vesuvius National Park Authority, who declared that "from today all citizens, thanks to the commendable actions of the young people and associations involved in the project, will be able to enjoy a redeveloped and equipped green area, also for our four-legged friends. From today it will be everyone's commitment to protect and preserve this common good".
The project spokesperson and UNEC representative, Fabio Altiero, declared “I remember the first days, when we put on our gloves to clean up the area that was in a state of abandonment, as it was then and as it appears today, it no longer seems the same place, it was a long and tiring job, but also rich in experiences, with the events and workshops held, in conclusion it was worth it.
The result makes us very proud. We are confident that the citizens and local associations, with whom we have created a network thanks to the project, will want to actively collaborate in taking care of this new collective space.
We would like to thank all those who, in various capacities, have made this project possible, including the Institutions, the Trecase Parents Association, the Primaurora Association, Eiraionos, the Napoli Pedala Association, the volunteers of the Universal Civil Service and all the citizens who have spontaneously supported the cause".
