Yesterday, State Police personnel executed a custodial order in prison, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against the prisoner Salvatore Fido, considered seriously suspected of aggravated stalking by mafia method to the detriment of his wife.
The investigations were launched on September 8, 2021, when the woman reported a series of persecutions carried out by her husband despite the fact that he was detained. During the investigations, it emerged that Salvatore Fido, taking advantage of his position as an affiliate of the Mazzarella clan, took advantage of the intimidation capacity of that association to carry out numerous harassment against the wife.
His criminal intentions were carried out thanks to some individuals who ensured constant monitoring of the victim, forced to abandon her home in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood, controlled by the Mazzarella clan, to move to various secret locations, found thanks to the assistance offered by theFree Association of Don Luigi Ciotti.

During the investigations, the real danger for the victim was detected and surveillance measures were ensured in the places frequented by her and her closest relatives, with whom Fido tried to get in touch to reach his wife.

The District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Napoli had already submitted a request for the application of a precautionary measure in prison for Salvatore Fido and other individuals. The request had been rejected.
Following an appeal lodged by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Review Court issued the precautionary order.
