arzano. The decision of the Metropolitan City of Naples to re-entrust, through a contract, the use of the structure on Via GB Vico as a branch of the ISS Don G. Piscopo on Via Napoli is sparking controversy and fear among students.
The incident, already under scrutiny by the Carabinieri and the Prosecutor's Office, had seen the collapse of part of the ceiling in one of the classrooms used as a gym last March and that only by a miracle had not turned into a real tragedy. The collapse would have occurred due to water infiltration.
A situation that had literally shocked the staff so much that they suspended the contract in force with the owner of the property and now, instead, the Metropolitan City, retracing its steps, has again stipulated the rental contract justifying the absence of participants in the public notice.
The matter had already ended up on the table of the President of the Republic, the Prefecture of Naples and the military of the Arma last March, who are investigating to trace the possible chain of responsibility. In fact, the certificates of seismic adaptation of the structure, fire prevention, safety and usability would have been requested.
But in light of what happened, not only do all the vulnerabilities already reported in previous years emerge, but also a possible negligence of the Municipality of Arzano that should have monitored the presence or absence of the certificates. Already in previous years, during recess in the courtyard, a student was injured by the fall of a portion of the reception wall.
