Arzano. They tampered with seals and stole water: aggravated theft, three shopkeepers reported by local police.
The local police officers of Arzano led by Commander Biagio Chiariello were engaged in a service to combat illegal conduct on the territory within the scope of their administrative police powers.
The White Helmets targeted several commercial activities, including pizzerias located on the main streets of the city, where suspicions were raised by some water supply meters that were found to have been tampered with, with the removal of seals and the improper supply of water to the detriment of the municipality.
Three people were reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of aggravated theft. During the same checks, the managers were also charged with illegal occupation of public land for a total of approximately two thousand euros and ordered to restore the state of the places.
In fact, some traders often occupy the road surface and sidewalks with plants and stools despite being aware that chairs, stools and plants constitute a violation of Article 20 of the Highway Code and that anyone who illegally occupies the road surface, or who, having obtained a concession, does not comply with the relevant provisions, is subject to an administrative sanction.
In addition to the water theft, tax evasion also emerged
The outcome of the activities also revealed tax evasion, a detail reported to the offices of the Authority and to the Guardia di Finanza and a temporary closure of the business after the transmission to the Suap cannot be excluded.
To prevent the repetition of such conduct, the agents with the workers, have removed the water meters. The traders, visibly discovered, have regularized the position by stipulating a regular water supply contract paying what has been evaded up to now.
