Contempt of a political, administrative, or judicial body: this is the alleged crime against two individuals responsible, along with others yet to be identified, for posting a banner reading "Shame" in front of the entrance to the Avellino Courthouse.
The registration in the register of suspects, on the basis of the investigations entrusted to the Flying Squad of the Avellino Police Headquarters, was ordered by the Public Prosecutor Vincenzo D'Onofrio.
The protest referred to the decision of the investigating judge of the Court of Avellino, Fabrizio Ciccone, with which on July 29th Nico Iannuzzi and Luca Sciarrillo, accused of the murder of Roberto Bembo, a 21-year-old from Mercogliano, were transferred from prison to house arrest.
The young man died in hospital ten days later from stab wounds received at dawn last New Year's Eve during a trivial argument that turned into a brawl over parking near a bar in Monteforte Irpino.
The investigating judge took the decision to mitigate the precautionary measure to safeguard the rights of the defense of the two suspects, in prison for seven months while the investigation, coordinated by the Avellino Prosecutor's Office, has not yet concluded. The provision was challenged by the prosecutor Vincenzo Toscano, head of the investigation.
The request for indictment for Iannuzzi and Sciarrillo should however be formalized in the next few days, after the delivery of the autopsy report entrusted to the coroner.
