“Sixteen months to carry out a specialist visit booked by a woman from San Giorgio del Sannio through the ASL of Benevento at the beginning of September and set for December 19, 2024.
An absurd situation and waiting times that leave uncertainty, worries and not a few perplexities, if one considers that for health the time factor is decisive in preventing worsening”.
This is what Nicola Boccalone, head of the “Patients’ Tribunal” of Benevento, reports, criticizing the management of emergencies by the ASL Sannita.
“The declarations of efficiency of the emergency system by the ASL do not seem to find comfort especially in the recent events that have marked the Fortore territory”, he adds.
“Therefore – concludes Boccalone – there are those who can afford to go to private facilities, without having to queue, and there are those who, like the lady from San Giorgio del Sannio, for a check-up or specialist visit, are required to wait the times dictated by the ASL, having to resign themselves to waiting for their turn, living in the meantime with the worry about the evolution of their physical health condition and always entrusting themselves to the good Lord”.
