The first major event in Central and Southern Italy dedicated to the world of roller sports has just concluded with great success among the public and athletes.

Conceived and created by ASD SEBS FIERA DELLO SPORT and ASD ONE LINE SKATING SCHOOL, this festival was born thanks to the passion and love for these disciplines by entrepreneurs and athletes who, almost by chance, met months ago and decided to join forces to give life to that dream that the city of Naples has been carrying forward for decades, which is to bring together under the same roof all the disciplines that are part of the FISR, the Italian Roller Sports Federation.

Today the Caracciolo seafront has been transformed into a huge open-air track where over 200 athletes competed in the 4 competitions on offer (including one federal and one national).

The numbers of a deserved success: 10.000 attendees in 12 hours of activity, all despite the rain, a faithful companion of this day of celebration.

Despite the uncertain weather, hundreds of children and young people flocked to Via Caracciolo and were able to experience the magic of wheels, and not only those who already love and practice these sports but also the public who, passing through the area, were able to take advantage of the free rental of skates and protections provided by Decathlon, partner of the event.

There was also plenty of space for “cousin” activities: the FISI (Italian Winter Sports Federation) and the FISW (Italian Water Skiing Wakeboard Surfing Federation) which created demonstration areas for their disciplines. The FISI brought skiroll to the seafront, with over 50 SkiRolls and thanks to the help of the Federal Technicians was able to let the public of professionals and non-professionals try this discipline preparatory to skiing.

FISW on the other hand has made an effort to let people try its activities such as surfing, sup and even indoboard, attracting great attention from the young audience present.

In the afternoon, the Councillor for Sport and Equal Opportunities, Emanuela Ferrante, visited the event, and after awarding the winners of the various categories, she stated: “A wonderful initiative today in Naples! In the splendid setting of our city, children and adults spent a day of fun and sports. I thank Sebs, Oneline and Fisr for choosing Naples for the Roller Skating Festival and this is only the first of many initiatives together!”

Tommaso Conte, one of the organizers and FISI teacher, Snowboard, inline skates and Skateboarding technician at the end of the event declared: a first experience that filled our eyes with beauty and our hearts with joy. The Naples seafront is the ideal location for this event. Today the public coming from all over Italy was able to admire Vesuvius, Castel dell'Ovo and also a wonderful rainbow that framed our activities. This last symbol of the effort made to get to this day, but also of the greatness of the feat. We thank the FISR for believing in the dream of 2 athletes who have always seen sport not only as an activity but as a means to train and grow with the right values the generations of the future.”

Rossella Montagna, President of the ASD SEBS FIERA DELLO SPORT and co-organizer of the festival as well as several other sporting events, echoes her: We strongly believed in this event, despite all the odds. This day marks an important starting point for us for new projects. We were able to see firsthand how strongly the Campania public feels the need to be able to experience these sports, which unfortunately lack adequate space in the south. Our sports associations have set themselves the goal of finding a permanent site where they can create a suitable space for young Neapolitans to study and practice these sports. And we are confident that with the help of the institutions that have supported us thus far, we can achieve great things for our city. A special thanks goes to the Municipality of Naples, the Campania Region, CONI, and Sport e Salute, who believed in our dream and who, I hope, will continue to support us in all the future projects we undertake.
