The hunt is on for the four gunmen with their faces covered, who carried out the attack during the night between Sunday and Monday in Caivano, in the province of Naples, riding two powerful scooters. During the attack, they fired a total of 19 gunshots on Viale delle Margherite.
Law enforcement is examining surveillance camera footage from the area to put a face and name to those who wanted to challenge the state.
The alarm was raised a few hours later by the parish priest of Parco Verde, Don Maurizio Patriciello, known for his commitment against crime and for this reason he is under escort.
Investigations into the accident are currently underway by the Carabinieri of the local company and the Investigative Unit of Castello di Cisterna.
Eight 7,65 caliber shells and eleven 9×21 caliber shells were found at the crime scene and are now being analyzed by forensic experts. It is believed that the perpetrators of the shooting, which was an example of a “stesa” (a demonstration raid by the Camorra with indiscriminate gunshots), fled along the nearby Asse Mediano.
Prime Minister Meloni: “We will respond blow for blow”
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni responded to the incident by saying: “This will also be the year of constitutional reform, of the first bricks of fiscal reform, of the most substantial part of justice reform.
This will be the year we begin to reduce bureaucracy, address the housing emergency, and strengthen merit-based education. This will be the year we demonstrate that the State has returned to the problem areas. I want to say to the organized crime of Caivano that thinks it can intimidate us with its actions: we will respond with determination.
e. They don't scare us". The Prime Minister also mentioned the year of the Italian presidency of the G7 and the Mattei Plan, a major strategic project to bring Italy back to the center of the Mediterranean.
