Caivano: "It's death, my children can't stay here or go to school here." This was stated by the mother of the eldest of the two cousins ​​who were gang-raped in Caivano, interviewed on Bruno Vespa's Cinque minuti on RaiUno.

The two cousins ​​have been in a foster home for a few weeks. The eldest turned 13 last Saturday. “My children have to leave Caivano but I want to leave too,” adds the 13-year-old’s mother, “I want to stay with them in the foster home.”

The woman admits to having an alcohol problem, “but I’ll be able to stop drinking,” she promises. She admits that she could have done more to protect her daughter and, as for family life, she recalls receiving citizen’s income: “But I didn’t manage that money, I drank and I don’t know how it ended up.”

In the studio with Vespa is teacher Pina Passarella, who taught the abused thirteen-year-old: “A very sweet, shy girl, I often saw her with her gaze lost in space”.

The teacher describes the situation of many families in Caivano as one of “total degradation and abandonment”: “Many times the kids fall asleep in class, because they stay out late at night dancing or because their parents take them to the Bingo”.
