In the Green Park of Caivano, which has been under pressure from law enforcement in recent days, another shooting incident occurred. During the night, about twenty shots were fired from two different weapons, an event that sounds like a challenge.

Don Maurizio Patriciello, the priest at the center of the situation and under escort, denounced the incident in real time on social media, calling the night “of terror” and calling the situation “inconceivable.” He emphasized how dangerous a stray bullet is in these circumstances.

This is the third shooting in Caivano since Prime Minister Meloni's last visit on August 31. Shortly after the incident, a car parked on the street was hit by gunfire. According to Don Patriciello, these shootings represent a direct challenge to the State by members of the Camorra, who feel surrounded and want to show that they are not afraid.

These incidents are a response to the massive police raid of the last few days, involving 400 officers, and to the growing attention in the area following the case of the two abused cousins.

Currently, the streets of Parco Verde are even more deserted than usual, and the few passers-by avoid answering journalists' questions or declare that they have not heard anything. The presence of carabinieri and police is evident, but raids like the one last night can still happen given their improvisation and unpredictability.

Don Patriciello does not accept this reality and insists that Caivano is part of Italy and Europe, stressing that it is a shame that such events happen. He only asks that the right to a normal life be defended.

The Ministry of the Interior has announced further increases in police forces, including a greater presence of the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza. In addition, a patrol car will be established to guard the Parco Verde 24 hours a day.

In the meantime, projects for the redevelopment of the neighborhood continue, with a focus on the recovery of the Delphinia sports center, which had become an open-air landfill and where the abuse of the two girls is presumed to have occurred. It is scheduled to reopen by next spring. The president of the Anti-Mafia commission, Chiara Colosimo, has announced an imminent visit to Caivano to express solidarity after yet another demonstration of mafia power.
