The Naples police have dealt a heavy blow to the Torretta Camorra, thanks to an operation by the Flying Squad of the Naples Police Headquarters. Napoli and of the San Ferdinando police station, under the coordination of the anti-mafia prosecutor's office.
Giovanni Strazzullo, known as “Chicco”, an emerging member of the clan and son of the boss Enrico Strazzullo, nicknamed “Peperone” (not involved in the affair), was arrested.
Armando Mastroianni was also arrested with him. The news is anticipated this morning by the newspaper Il Roma on newsstands. The operation led to the issuing of arrest warrants by the Dda of Naples, with charges of mafia association, weapons and extortion against illegal parking attendants. The validation of the arrest will take place in the next few days, and it will be up to the lawyer Giuseppe De Gregorio, defender of the suspects, to formulate the defense.
Both of those arrested are already known to the police, but have no criminal record. Giovanni Strazzullo is also related to people from Secondigliano affiliated with the Licciardis, and has lived in Secondigliano for several years. About a year and a half ago, he returned to Torretta trying to make his way in the camorra of the neighborhood near the Chiaia and Mergellina area, and it seems that he succeeded, according to the investigation that led to the arrests.
