With Decree no. 3697/2023, the TAR Campania accepted the Appeal for additional reasons presented by the associations ENPA, LIPU and WWF Italia the day after the publication in the BURC of the resolution aimed at reopening hunting, issued after frenetic and extraordinary activities of the Council and the Regional Council which met urgently to allow hunters to shoot in the so-called pre-opening.
“It is demeaning – the associations declare – that an entity with very delicate competences should act in these ways, investing precious time and money of everyone just to allow private citizens to engage in a pastime.
It is equally depressing and sad to note that the resolutions were published yesterday afternoon, knowing that the hunt would reopen this morning, precisely to prevent the associations from having the material time to assert not their whims but respect for the law.
Now we expect the regional bodies to be equally quick and effective in communicating to hunters to put their guns back in their holsters to avoid incurring sanctions. We hope that this latest defeat will open the eyes of the regional political representatives, so united beyond political colors, in supporting this failed action and will bring them back to the responsibility of dealing first and foremost with the protection of common goods that cannot be subordinated to electoral logics”.
