The 29-year-old from Castel Volturno was calmly sipping a drink sitting at the bar in the centre of Carinola, in the province of Caserta, with the tractor he had stolen shortly before from a plot of land in the nearby hamlet of Casanova, parked outside the premises.
It happened late this morning when the Carabinieri of the local station, during a territorial control operation, noticed the large work vehicle left parked by the man on the public road, who, having noticed their presence, immediately started the engine and attempted to escape.
Once he reached them, he tried in every way to avoid being stopped, attacking the soldiers with kicks and punches and trying to violently take their pistols which were firmly in their holsters.

He was stopped and accompanied to the barracks where he was arrested and accompanied to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
He will have to answer for aggravated theft, attempted robbery, assault, violence, threats and resisting a public official.
