CARLOS, the documentary directed by Rudy Valdez dedicated to the legendary guitarist and world icon Carlos Santana, will arrive in cinemas around the world with an exclusive event. The event celebrates the life and history of one of the greatest icons of music, winner of 10 Grammys, and will arrive in cinemas only on September 25, 26 and 27 with “CARLOS: SANTANA’S JOURNEY. WORLD PREMIERE”. The screenings will be enriched by a special introductory content that will see the participation of Santana himself and director Valdez, already winner of two Emmys (The Sentence, We Are: The Brooklyn Saints).
Premiering at the recent Tribeca Festival, CARLOS features new interviews with Santana and his family, as well as never-before-seen archival footage, including home videos recorded by the artist himself, concert footage, backstage footage, and interviews with music industry luminaries and collaborators, including Clive Davis and Rob Thomas.
The event is presented worldwide by Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Pictures Classics and distributed exclusively for Italy by Nexo Digital (list of theaters coming soon on carlosfilm.com and nexodigital.it).
A musical legend for 50 years and winner of 10 Grammy Awards, Santana continues to be one of the world's most important artists, capable of fusing jazz, blues and Mariachi music with the spirituality of rock n' roll, demonstrating the sense of connection and the primal link between music and our deepest emotions.
Jointly financed by Sony Music Entertainment and Imagine Documentaries, CARLOS is produced by Sara Bernstein and Justin Wilkes alongside Lizz Morhaim and executive produced by Academy Award-winning producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard for Imagine Documentaries. Producers include Leopoldo Gout, Ashley Kahn and Sam Pollard. Meredith Kaulfers serves as co-executive producer for Imagine Documentaries and Michael Vrionis as executive producer.
