Following the interest of the Prefecture of Caserta, the Italian Army bomb disposal experts of the 21st Engineer Regiment of Caserta, accompanied on site by the military of the Carabinieri Forestale Nucleus of Caserta, went inside the Bosco San Vito on Mount Tifata, where they proceeded to safely remove the unexploded ordnance found by the aforementioned Carabinieri Forestale in recent days.
The war remnant turned out to be a still active 88 mm artillery shell, of English nationality, which was transported to a disused limestone quarry in the municipality of Casagiove where it was detonated.
