Two people were reported to the judicial authorities for cultivation and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell them. One individual was arrested in flagrante delicto, while almost 900 plants of "cannabis indica" and approximately 190 kg of drugs were seized, whose illegal value is estimated at over 2 million euros.
These results are the fruit of three anti-drug operations conducted by the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Caserta, which took place in Casaluce, Macerata Campania and Marcianise.
These actions were possible thanks to the operational synergy between the various territorial and naval units of the Corps, which exploited the modern equipment installed on their aircraft to conduct preventive and repressive investigations aimed at countering criminal trafficking.
Following the seizure of a cannabis plantation in mid-July by the Sessa Aurunca Police Department, the Corps continues to be committed to combating illegal drug trafficking.
The latest operations were launched following information provided by aerial reconnaissance by the financial police of the Naples Air Section, which allowed the Guardia di Finanza of Aversa, Caserta and Marcianise to identify and seize three drug plantations between the end of July and the beginning of September.
To be more precise, the military of the Aversa Group discovered in Casaluce a cultivation of “cannabis indica” composed of 226 plants, in addition to equipment used for cultivation. The quality control of the plants revealed that the seized narcotic substance, known as “marijuana”, weighs a total of about 46 kg and has a THC content higher than the limit allowed by law.
The Green Berets of the Caserta Group found and seized a cannabis plantation in Macerata Campania consisting of a total of 523 plants, 13 of which weigh over 5 kg each. In addition, an adjacent laboratory was discovered containing 140 kg of cannabis-type narcotic substance and 195 g of hashish-type narcotic substance.
Finally, the last operation took place on September 5 and was conducted jointly by the Green Berets of the Caserta Group and the military of the Marcianise Company. During this operation, a cannabis plantation consisting of 130 plants and more than 3 kg of cannabis-type narcotic substance was identified and seized.
In all these cases, the investigations and analyses carried out confirmed the presence of an active ingredient exceeding the limits permitted by law in the seized substances. The materials, tools and equipment used for drying, processing, storage and distribution of the drug were also seized.
The work of the Fiamme Gialle of the Provincial Command of Caserta, in close collaboration with the naval air component of Naples, once again highlights the daily commitment of the Corps in the fight against illegal drug trafficking.
