The surge in collections is accompanied by a steady collection activity that has been ongoing since the Reuse Center opened last April. "These are truly encouraging results," explained Caserta Mayor Carlo Marino, "which encourage us to continue on this path, which sees us constantly growing in terms of separate waste collection and the circular economy."

"The Reuse Center," added Environment Councilor Carmela Mucherino, "combines two objectives: environmental protection and solidarity. Thanks to the Center, materials are prevented from being sent to landfill, resulting in cost savings, and it gives those in need the opportunity to collect various types of items and use them in their daily lives."

The Municipal Reuse Center, located in the recycling center on Via Sossietta Scialla, allows residents to donate or collect used items that are still in good condition, and therefore functional, and could prove useful; a true, spontaneous "exchange" between residents. Meanwhile, environmental inspectors from the Environment and Ecology Office of the Municipality of Caserta continue their work to verify the proper implementation of waste sorting. In June, July, and August, approximately 30 fines were issued, primarily to commercial businesses, but also to private condominiums.
