Important anti-drug operation in the Matese area where a cannabis plantation was discovered.
The intensification of territorial control services aimed at preventing and repressing the commission of drug-related crimes, implemented by the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Piedimonte Matese Company together with the military of the Capriati a Volturno Station, allowed, late yesterday afternoon, to proceed with the arrest for cultivation and possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotics, of a 51-year-old.
During the search carried out at his home in the small town of Fontegreca, in the province of Caserta, approximately 6 kg of hashish were recovered, 3 cannabis indica plants over 1.90 m tall, 2 precision scales and various materials for packaging the doses.
What aroused the suspicions of the military was the constant coming and going of young people and the reports of some residents.
After the raid, the Carabinieri found and seized, inside a storage room located on the ground floor of the building, the three Cannabis Indica plants and three cardboard boxes that contained the marijuana and the material for preparing and packaging the doses.
Further narcotic substances, already prepared for consumption in joints, were also found in the arrested man's car.
The 51-year-old was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison and placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
