A 70-year-old man from Sassano, in the province of Salerno, died this morning after being hit by a round bale of hay inside a farm shed in the municipality of Ceraso, in the Cilento region.

The man died instantly. The 118 paramedics arrived on the scene, alerted by the other people who were with him at the time of the accident, but the 70-year-old was already dead.

The Carabinieri are working to try to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident. They are questioning the people present and the owner of the warehouse.
