Colombia in shock over the assassination of the president of Tigers F.C., a second division team, after his team lost a match on Saturday night. The Colombian club itself announced the death of Edgar Paez, shot dead. According to local media reports, 63-year-old Paez was returning home with his daughter after a home defeat to Atlético FC when he was shot by two men on a motorcycle near Tigres' Metropolitano de Techo stadium in Bogotá. His daughter was unharmed in the attack, and the prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the murder.
"The Tigres family and the sports community are devastated by this event.", the club said in a statement published on X.
