'Concert for Giovanbattista' tomorrow at Federico II

'Concerto per Giovanbattista' will open the 5th Edition of Unimusic, the Festival of music and culture for Naples, conceived and created by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti in collaboration with the Federico II University. The event will be entirely dedicated to the memory of the young Neapolitan musician Giovanbattista Cutolo.

The Orchestra has decided not to stop and to play at all scheduled events to continue fighting violence with the weapons of beauty.

The Festival opens on Sunday 10th and ends on September 29th.

Tomorrow, at 18.30:XNUMX pm, in the Courtyard of the Statues of the Federico II, next to the boys of the Scarlatti Orchestra and the maestro Gaetano Russo, as always there will also be the rector Matteo Lorito and the vice-rector Rita Mastrullo, this time to remember, in one of the places where he was the protagonist with his horn several times, the young and talented musician tragically taken from life.

Rector Matteo Lorito recalls: 'Tomorrow the University of Federico II welcomes the Scarlatti Orchestra once again, hosting it, as usual, in its spaces, in this case for an event that we have been organizing together for five editions now.

The University has long since significantly increased the resources for this musical group, providing not only a venue but also financing numerous concerts which regularly take place in various locations of the University and are always free and open to the public.

And he reiterates: 'The concert on September 10 obviously has a special meaning in light of the tragedy that struck Scarlatti and all of us. It will be dedicated to Giogiò Cutolo and the austere but beautiful Cortile delle Statue will be the stage for the musicians' notes.

Along with mourning and pain, music will also bring the desire for redemption and a precise message: to never abandon the field, renewing the daily efforts to make culture, art and music the extinguishers of the fire of violence.
