With the last remnants of summer that extol the merits, but highlight the defects without striking a blow, after the numerous reminders sent by Confcommercio Salerno, it is not long before the umpteenth complaint arrives to resolve a situation that has now become intolerable but, above all, to underline the need for concrete and shared planning.
“This summer, we've had to experience the neglect of public greenery, the city's poor decorum, the terrible quality of the city's bathing water, and the tardy cleaning of the beaches—conditions that are still far from being resolved.

A note signed by Nino Marone, president of Confcommercio Salerno, Antonio Ilardi, president of Federalberghi Salerno and Alfonso Amoroso, president of Sib Salerno, which demands voice and attention: “A meeting requested several times in the past months, without any outcome, expressed again and formally to the mayor of Salerno in recent days, with the aim of working together for the common good”.
To be able to worthily present the capital city to national and international tourism operators, also in view of the next edition of the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, the tourism fair scheduled from 11 to 13 October: “We need, starting today, certain commitments and precise dates on the actions and interventions to be implemented.”
The hope, as well as the avoidable risk, is that tourists visiting the city will not experience the same inconveniences suffered this year next season: “Those who choose Salerno as a destination for their holidays deserve to spend a pleasant stay. Even more, the citizens themselves deserve respect”.
