From 5 to 29 September 2023, theatre, music and book events.
Tuesday 5 September officially begins “Cultura CITTADINA(POLI)”, a project included in the “Cartellone degli Eventi Metropolitani”, proposed by the Municipality of Massa di Somma and financed by the Metropolitan City of Naples.
The initiative, strongly supported by Mayor Gioacchino Madonna, with the collaboration of Dr. Ilaria Caruso, City Secretary and Head of Culture and the organization of the Association "L'ora d'aria", hosts artists and writers from Campania who, at a national level, are committed to spreading our tradition. The program includes a series of integrated activities that have in common the theme of Neapolitan culture understood in its broadest sense. The events, which involve various local realities, are dedicated to music, theater and books and are aimed at an audience of all ages.
The Teatro Comunale di Massa di Somma “Carmela Maddaloni” will be the setting for three evenings of music and theatre, starting at 21:00 pm, with artists who will fascinate a varied target of spectators:
– Tuesday 5th September Roberto Colella will be the protagonist of “Canzoni nude e canti di resistenza”, a special, intimate and “naked” concert, in which the story behind the song is unraveled and takes shape. A solo show with piano, guitar, flutes and drums “supported” by the voice of the audience.
– Thursday 14th September Amedeo Colella will present, with his unique and irreverent style, “Nisciuno nasce 'mparato”, written by the same, accompanied by the music and singing of maestro Francesco Cuomo, with the extraordinary participation of Umberto Tommaselli and the singer Elena Vittoria.
Colella will lead the public on a walk full of anecdotes, curiosities and legends about the history of Naples.
– Friday 29th September Paolo Caiazzo will close the review with the theatre-song show “Terroni si nasce ed io lo nacqui…modetamente”, remembering the prince of laughter, the great Totò, with Emidio Ausiello, on percussion, Franco Ponzo, on guitar. Sasà Piedepalumbo, on accordion, and Roberto Giangrande, on double bass.
With lightness and with musicians on stage, he will tell his Southernness through his lyrics and a musical journey dedicated to southern musicians, from Pino Daniele to Domenico Modugno passing through many others and, why not, also to Squallor. His television alter ego Tonino Cardamone will not be missing from the stage, to whom the epilogue of the story is entrusted with the madness of the wise and the wisdom of his madness. More than a show, it is a “Mission” that is increasingly “Impossible” nowadays: To entertain and to have fun. But, as Caiazzo himself says, «you have to try, even on serious and dramatic issues, without taking yourself too seriously, because I am increasingly convinced that if you face a problem willing to laugh about it, it is likely that you can win, if you get down and despair… you have already lost».
The terrace of the “Meravilla” Municipal Park in Massa di Somma will host the 5th edition of the “Apericult… la cultura si fa in strada” Literary Festival, a consolidated literary/musical/food and wine tradition that includes literary meetings with representative writers of the area.
Four evenings of narration written, cut and sewn by Massimo Piccolo; two narrative voices, the very young Claudia De Rienzo and Piccolo himself. A singing voice, Adriana Cardinale and a playing voice, the piano of Francesco Marziani will be the fixed nucleus (to which guests will be added) that, depending on the guest author of the evening, introduced and narrated by Annamaria Pianese, will give life to a performance where the written word will be, from time to time, dressed in different clothes to give life to a single narrative flow.
And so, in addition to the texts and the world of the authors present, spectators will be able to travel through the most beautiful pages of literature, from Fitzgerald to Hugo, from Fante to Landslale, passing through Stephen King and Kent Haruf.
The appointments are as follows:
– September 8th with Agnese Palumbo;
– September 15th with Massimiliano Virgilio;
– September 22nd with Pino Imperatore;
– September 28th with Angela Rosauro.
At the end of each meeting, there will be a tasting of aperitifs based on typical local products, prepared by the students of the IPSSAR Ugo Tognazzi of Pollena Trocchia.
All events will be free entry until seats are filled.
