Sunday, October 8th marks the second National Day of Historic Hospitals, offering the public the opportunity to learn about one of the lesser-known but certainly most interesting and fruitful cultural treasures in our country's history.
From Milan, Florence, Venice, Rome, and Naples, passing through Alessandria, Brescia, Lodi, and Emilia Romagna, it will be possible to visit for free places often closed to the public, true hidden treasures within historic hospitals, art collections, ancient medical instruments, churches and monumental buildings, libraries, and rare book collections.

The concerts will be inspired by the complex relationships between epidemics and artistic innovations, with repertoires that showcase the musical history of the various locations. The initiative, organized by ACOSI (Cultural Association of Italian Historic Hospitals), has the mission of sharing best practices in the conservation, management, and enhancement of the artistic, historical, cultural, and architectural heritage of Italy's historic hospitals, as well as promoting the transparent and sustainable growth of the tangible and intangible scientific heritage held by healthcare institutions and hospitals.
