"I absolutely do not allow myself to judge anyone, in fact I am surprised by those who, in a superficial way, express judgments. Faced with certain numbers it is difficult not to and I challenge anyone to do so". Thus Roberto Donadoni, flag of Milan and former coach of the National team, has his say on the choice of Mancini to leave the blue for theSaudi Arabia, in an interview on the eve of his sixtieth birthday.
"Everyone is free to make the choices they deem appropriate. For Mancini, as for many players, there were important offers and I understand the choice very well. You can discuss the ways or the times, but I think everyone would have done the same", concludes the former coach.
“Il Arab footballThey invest a lot of money and I hope that this path will lead them to success, but they will probably have to structure themselves in a more complete way than they do now. – he adds -. I believe that, to become an important reality at least in the Asian continent, they must try to lay the foundations because if you start from the top it is difficult to build a future that has importance. With them I had set up a program to help young people grow and this thing, which did not come to fruition, is a bit of a limitation because they would have had the opportunity to train the new generations”.
Then, on the Saudi championship, he recalls: “I lived the experience at the end of my career in Jeddah winning the championship and the King's Cup. For me, even if it was short, it was an important experience because it made me see a reality distant from our way of being. Football is lived in a domineering way, the stadium is always full and it was a beautiful experience”, concludes Donadoni, who will turn 60 tomorrow.
"The teams that will compete for the Scudetto are Inter, Napoli, Milan and Juventus because, at least on paper, they have something more. I hope that Atalanta, Roma and Lazio will also join but I see those teams as a step, if not more, above the others. I hope to see a good fight and that we can enjoy a good show", Donadoni concludes speaking of the Serie A.
