In October, Dramma lab will start again, a training course for young playwrights of the Nuovo Teatro Sanità, directed by Mario Gelardi, created in collaboration with the Teatro Pubblico Campano.
Dramma Lab is the only drama laboratory recognized in Italy by the Ministry of Culture.
Participation is free: it is necessary to send a biographical note, a short motivational letter and a dramaturgical work (it can be a monologue, an extract from a dialogue or even a complete text) to drammalab18@gmail.com by September 2325th. All those who send a request to participate will access a first selection phase. The training course lasts two years. Complete information is available on the website drammalab.it
The new class of student playwrights will consist of a maximum of 15 students aged between 18 and 35. The lessons will take place on Saturday mornings, starting at 10.00:16 am at the Teatro Nuovo in Naples (Via Montecalvario, XNUMX).
“Dramma lab is a unique opportunity for all those who want to learn the techniques for writing a theatrical text – explains Mario Gelardi –, it is a work table that is always open. Naples has a great tradition of authors on the theatre scene and in recent years we have worked to train the new generation, putting aspiring playwrights in contact with professionals on the national and international scene: from Manlio Santanelli to Tino Caspanello and Francesco Niccolini to the Catalans Josep Maria Mirò and Helena Tornero and the German Philipp Löhle have held lessons and seminars for the young people who have attended our courses. Many of our former students have won important national awards and have been selected for the Biennale College in Venice: this gives us reason to think that it is a path that we must continue on. Now we are waiting to train new talents”.
