The wounds caused by the pain and terror of the flood that hit Casamicciola in November 2022 and whose consequent landslide caused 12 victims, 5 injured, 462 displaced people and 40 homes affected are still open and bleeding.
Yet the emergency remains such and strong even today especially in some key points, such as the La Rita riverbed, located on the border between Casamicciola and Lacco Ameno, fundamental for the hydrogeological structure of the territory.
In fact, many other rivers flow into the Rita canal and the riverbed continues up to the town on the edge of Fundera, in the area where the Rizzoli middle school and hospital are located.

As documented and reported to the left-wing alliance deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli by some citizens, the canals are still full of debris and therefore the persistence of the obstruction could lead to very risky consequences.
“We know that the extraordinary commissioner Giovanni Legnini has received the same documentation as us, so we will contact him and ask him to resolve the issue once and for all and act promptly, before a possible, but not desirable, catastrophe”, declares Borrelli.
“We must not rely on fate, we need interventions to secure the territory and we must address with determination the issue of the hydrogeological criticality which in Ischia as in the rest of the country should be the priority for anyone who administers first and foremost at a central level.”
