Saturday night was a bloody night of accidents on the roads of Campania. The latest incident occurred last night in the province of Benevento.
One person died and seven were injured in a road accident that occurred shortly after four this morning along the Appia state road, just outside the town of Forchia, in the province of Benevento in the direction of Caserta.
For reasons still being investigated, a fifty-one-year-old man, originally from Brusciano, in the province of Naples but resident in Arpaia in the province of Naples, lost his life following a collision between three cars (a Ford Focus, a Ford CMax and a Citroen Picasso). Benevento who was travelling as a passenger in the Citroen.

After the alarm was raised, several ambulances, firefighters, and Carabinieri rushed to the scene. The seven injured were transported to the San Pio and Fatebenefratelli hospitals in Benevento and to the hospital in Arienzo, in the province of Caserta.
None of the injured are currently in life-threatening condition. The Carabinieri have launched an investigation to determine the cause and any liability. The cars have been seized, and all the injured have undergone the necessary tests to determine whether they were fit to drive at the time of the crash.
