"We're fighting to change a law, the one regarding the criminal liability of young people, which essentially dates back to the 30s and underwent some changes in the 80s, when 16- and 17-year-olds played Monopoly.
Today, however, many people walk around armed with blades and guns. This happens especially in Naples, in every neighborhood. This situation will push me to leave the city and move to the province. We will be in Rome on October 9th for a demonstration: I hope the people of Torre del Greco will be there too."
The speaker was Franco Cutolo, father of Giovanbattista, the 24 year old musician killed in Napoli, in Piazza Municipio, last August 31st.
The director, originally from and raised in Torre del Greco, attended the inauguration of the municipal music festival "Autumn Voices dedicated to Giogiò Cutolo against all violence" last night, and took the stage at Villa Macrina alongside Mayor Luigi Mennella and Gennaro Russo, head of the Culture Department.

He thanked them for being close to the family during the funeral. "Giogiò had a special connection with Torre del Greco. Many times, especially when he was little, I left him at his grandmother's house with his sister: he loved the city. One of the last times we had lunch together, he asked me if the rumors about the possible recovery of the four altars were true.
He was fond of the Feast of the Four Altars: as a child, he helped me build the altar in 2003 and actively participated when I was entrusted with another task in 2011. Today, he would be happy to know that the municipal administration is working to revive the Feast of the Four Altars", Cutolo continued.
Mayor Luigi Mennella stated: "We decided to dedicate the 'Voci d'autunno' festival to Giogiò, not only as a fitting tribute to a son of our city, but above all to highlight how this tragedy should serve as a warning, not only to institutions but also to parents, who must return to their proper role as guides for their children.
I also told Franco: as a father, even before being mayor, this story has deeply affected me and it's difficult to find the right words or perhaps it's right to leave room for actions rather than words."
