The third edition of the series of meetings Gli Ozi di Ercole of the Ercolano Archaeological Park, with the theme Archaeology of desire, starts on Monday 18 September at 19.30:XNUMX pm.

The third season of Ozi will take place in the week from 18 to 23 September; the languages of science, archaeology, philosophy, literature, and theater will be compared, repeating the pattern already successfully tested in previous editions.

After the opening night on September 18, the meetings on September 21, 22 and 23 are included in the program of the European Heritage Days, an event organized by the Ministry of Culture with the aim of raising awareness of the richness and cultural diversity of Europe, stimulating interest in European cultural heritage, and fighting racism.

The meetings will be held at the Archaeological Park of Ercolano and at Villa Campolieto.

This third season of Ozi is dedicated to “Desire … a word full of complexity and nuances, which lends itself to being the key to explorations spanning the centuries, within human thoughts and perceptions, between the material and the immaterial for a suspended encounter between our past, even remote, and the present, through the thousand ways of expressing desire and imagining, also in terms of personal reflection, the future” with these words the director summarizes a variety of declinations of the theme that will be gradually offered to the public during the meetings through the usual mix of arts, languages, styles, intellectual and sensorial suggestions.

Presentation of the Program on Monday 18 September 2023 at 19.30 pm at the Terme Maschili del Parco.

Interested journalists are invited to communicate their adhesion to the press office at the email ercolano.ufficiostampa@beniculturali.it by Friday 15 September.

After the presentation for the public and the press, the first meeting of the cycle Il desiderio dell'attesa will follow with André Aciman who will talk with Gennaro Carillo and Paolo Di Paolo. Aciman is the author of the novel Call Me by Your Name, perhaps the contemporary novel in which the connection between desire and waiting appears most evident.

The Gli Ozi di Ercole exhibition is curated by Prof. Paolo Carillo, full professor of History of Political Thought at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples and is included in the Enhancement Plan of the Ercolano Archaeological Park 2022.
