The Campania of the tammorre in Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo, in the name of Mamma Schiavona and the Six Sisters.

“I am grateful to the community of Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo that every year shows its closeness, its affection and its warmth.

But also to the Reverend Don Vittorio Perrillo, an exceptional spiritual guide, who never failed to provide his support and presence. Thanks to the municipal administration led by Mayor Luigi Marciano and in particular thanks to Salvatore Cassano, a point of reference for me in the management of the festival”: with this recognition for the small town on the slopes of Partenio, the artistic director Fiorenza Calogero concludes the 25th edition of the festival 'A Juta a Montevergine.

An intense year of study and commitment materialized in the three days – from 10 to 12 September – which focused on faith and popular traditions around the cult of the Seven Madonnas of Campania: "Mine has been a constant thought, I strongly wanted the most significant devotional rites of our region to find time and space to share and there was no better moment than the opening of the Marian cycle with the celebrations dedicated to Mamma Schiavona. For me this edition represented a strong rooting in the cultural identity of Campania, the most authentic, most sincere and visceral one".

But the realization of the festival 'A Juta a Montevergine was a team effort, underlines Fiorenza Calogero: “It is my duty to mention the people who accompanied me in this project - explains - contributing to the great success of the events. Francesca Cito with her graphic art was able to fully interpret the concept of this edition, the social media manager Giusy Meo who constantly updated and followed the official pages, Maria Fioretti who informed and updated the press step by step and Claudia Nappi who through her photographs created an evocative and beautiful story through images”.

And then there are the artists, who arrived in Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo and left their hearts and festive rhythms in every corner of the village: "My heartfelt thanks go to them, for the passion with which they dedicated themselves to the shows and performances, making every moment exciting. The esteem and trust that they renew in me every time is extraordinary and has allowed the public, after years, to see all the paranze gathered in Piazza Umberto I, to enjoy the talent of Antonio Amato who brought the sounds of his Salento to Irpinia, together with MusicaStoria, of the show by Peppe Barra that crowned this 25th record-breaking edition. Thanks again to Kiepó, to Angelo 'O Capitano Picone, to Zi Riccardo and the Donne della Tammorra. The Paranze who represented the Seven Madonnas deserve a special mention: Peppino Di Febbraio, Emy Cordiano, Antonio 'O Lione Matrone, Carmine Ferrara, Luigi 'O Russulillo Matrone, Tonino 'O Stocco Esposito and Pino Iovine. I thank La Paranza della Traversa who donated and dedicated to me 'A Perteca, symbol of the Madonna di Castello di Somma Vesuviana and also the group 'A Paranza do Tramuntano. Then Bruno Buoninconti, for his presence at the cultural meeting "Mamma Schiavona and the Six Sisters Between myths and legends". A big hug also goes to the artist builder of tambourines, the maestro Antonio De Lucia".

An incomparable edition for Fiorenza Calogero, with a profound meaning: “Seeing the alleys and streets full of people dancing and playing in the name of Mamma Schiavona and the Six Sisters - he concludes - remains my greatest success. A satisfaction that repays me for the efforts made and the difficulties overcome, with the sole objective of being able to have such an engaging and participated event”.
