Prizes were also awarded for the other artistic categories
The eighth edition of the “Taurasi Film Fest”, the prestigious national short film competition organized by the cultural association “Taurasium” chaired by Alberico Cardia, has announced its winners.
About eighty works entered in the competition, coming again this year from all over Italy and abroad. A festival, therefore, that is fully included in the artistic and cinematographic panorama of auteur, gaining the interest and appreciation of production houses, directors, cultural associations and the specialized press.
The “Taurasino d'Oro”, the prize for the best work in the competition, was awarded to the short film “Nel Vento” by Ranieri Popoli. The story concerns the expansion of the power line in the Sabato Valley and the fight for the environmental protection of an Irpinia territory that has been tormented and mortified for years. An act of denunciation and a call for hope that have found form in a valuable and significant cinematographic work, which in turn obtained the unanimous judgment of the jury of experts for the victory of the visual arts festival of the 2023 edition.
During the final evening of the festival, which was held in the municipal villa of Taurasi, with the patronage of the local Administration, the other prizes regarding the various artistic categories were also awarded.
The award for best actress went to Daria Morelli, protagonist of “Anna” by Vincenzo Palazzo (the story of the experiences of a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s), while the award for best direction was won by the short “Terra Fidelis” by Giorgia Puliga (the story of Rosa, a successful actress who returns to her hometown after twenty years to take part in a theatrical show), then the critics’ award was given to the mini-film “Nei tuoi panni” by Damiano Monaco (the meeting in a laundry of two former high school classmates and the story of a dream that will have unexpected developments), finally the social award was won by “03:47” by Ester Tessuti (a tragic phone call that shocks a family before Christmas Eve lunch).
For the other sections in competition, the “Taurasino d'Oro” for the “Taurasi Videoclip Contest” was won by the music video entitled “Tra le mie stanze” by Antonio Preziosi, aka “Il Cervello”, then the jury awarded the “Taurasi nel Cuore” prize to the short film “Minuccio” by Sebastiano Rossetti.
