After many years, the municipal beach of Bagnoli It has been renovated and equipped with walkways, umbrellas, showers, and a sunbathing area, thus increasingly becoming a social space for the community.
This morning, in the presence of Infrastructure Councillor Edoardo Cosenza and City Council President Enza Amato, the new sports facilities donated by Giffas (Italsider Group for Families of Special Children and Adults), a non-profit organization working locally to rehabilitate people with disabilities, were opened.
Last June, thanks to the intervention of the Marine Protection Service, the Bagnoli area was reopened with wooden walkways, eight showers, and a path accessible to people with disabilities, creating a public beach of approximately 7.500 square meters.
In August, the area was also equipped with umbrellas.

"Giffas, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, wanted to donate this equipment to the municipal beach," Curro explained. "These activities are open to the community, but it's important to us that our kids have places to go."
In addition to the restoration, the municipal administration has also worked to enhance the area and facilitate its broader use: the new facilities offer the opportunity to practice outdoor sports, and thanks to the 'Sensations at Dusk' initiative, the doors will also open to residents and tourists for evening events with music and tastings.
"There are camps for young people as well as for older people," Councilor Cosenza emphasized. "While we wait for bathing facilities to be restored, a challenge that will take time, the municipal beach is becoming more accessible and useful to residents. Giffas has done an extraordinary job; it's a very important organization with a wonderful history."
The President of the Municipal Council, Amato, stated that "this is a wonderful project of inclusion and integration between the citizens of Bagnoli and the kids of Giffas".
