The exact circumstances that led to the fall of a large telephone pole in Via del Parco in Montecreto, in the province of Modena, between the campsite and the Parco dei Castagni, under which a worker lost his life, are still unclear.
The Modena Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the incident to determine the causes and identify any responsibilities.
His name was Elias D'Elia, 61 years old, originally from Caracas but resident in Benevento for years.

The man was with two colleagues at a campsite in Montecreto, in the province of Modena. An employee of Sielte, a company that operates in the telecommunications sector, Elias was hit and crushed by a telephone pole that had to be freed from some branches that had wrapped around him and replaced.
For reasons yet to be ascertained, the pylon gave way and hit him before the incredulous eyes of his colleagues who were with him. The intervention of 118 was useless. The injuries he sustained were too serious. On Monday, the Modena Prosecutor's Office will assign the task of the autopsy. Elias' wife and children are being assisted by lawyers Luigi Giuliano and Sonia Calabrese.
