Steve Gadd, one of the greatest and most appreciated drummers in history, will be the protagonist of the #Ittateveamare Jazz Festival, at the Lido Varca d'Oro (Riviera Flegrea Domitia Via Orsa Maggiore – Marina di Varcaturo), the first jazz festival on foot in the sand, "child" of an idea of the owner, a great music lover, Salvatore Trinchillo, created in collaboration with the Napoli Jazz Club, Michele Chianese, the Accademia Cimarosa and the Michelemmà Rewind.
The American drummer will not be alone, but part of an all-star trio that includes two-time Grammy Award winner Danish saxophonist Michael Blicher and Hammond wizard Dan Hemmer.
The three extraordinary musicians joined forces in 2014 to celebrate their shared love of the soul/jazz Hammond organ. The Band has played more than 50 concerts worldwide to date and has released two live albums: Blicher Hemmer Gadd in 2014 and Omara in 2018. This lineup has a unique opportunity: to allow the world’s most innovative drummer to showcase his talents, playing the kind of music he loves: “This is honest Music. No one plays like this anymore.” says Steve Gadd.
Steve Gadd has played and recorded with artists such as Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Bee Gees, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Steely Dan, Al Jarreau, Joe Cocker, Chick Corea, James Taylor, Al Di Meola, Michel Petrucciani, The Manhattan Transfer ….
Steve Gadd also collaborated with Pino Daniele playing on the albums Ferryboat and Schizzihea with love.
