As art critic Antonella Nigro writes, “with this new artistic proposal, Lorenzo Basile questions the complexity of the human condition, divided into an ever-painful situation of happiness and melancholy, suffering and jubilation, contentment and dissatisfaction, a perennial alternation that places everyone in existential places made of lights and shadows that, often, are not clearly defined, but have labile and fleeting boundaries. Lights and shadows presupposes the analysis of the antinomy par excellence: light-darkness”.
"Lights and Shadows" also represents the fusion of two distinct art forms, painting and poetry: all of Lorenzo Basile's paintings will be accompanied by poems by Nicola Esposito and Francesca Patitucci. Each work was carefully selected and assigned directly by the artist to the two poets, who then reinterpreted it according to their poetic language.
The vernissage will be held in the presence of the mayor of Sarno, Giuseppe Canfora, the councilor for Culture, Eutilia Viscardi, and the councilor for Entertainment, Annamaria Della Porta. The journalist Viridiana Myriam Salerno will moderate the interventions of the art critic Antonella Nigro and the declamations of the poets Nicola Esposito and Francesca Patitucci.
