Maddaloni, argues with his partner and threatens suicide: stopped with a taser

Yet another call for help was made to “112” in the middle of the night, and this time too it was a woman who needed the intervention of the Carabinieri.

It happened in Maddaloni, in the province of Caserta, where a 36-year-old local woman reported a heated argument in progress with her partner.

The military arrived a few minutes later in Via Starzalunga, at the couple's home, where they found the two arguing heatedly.

In particular, the man, in a state of great agitation, had hidden a kitchen knife behind his back, which he pointed at his throat at the sight of the soldiers, showing suicidal intentions. The attempts at dialogue undertaken by the Carabinieri to make him desist were in vain, until one of the soldiers, in order to avoid the worst, hit him with the taser provided, blocking him with an electric dart.

After disarming him, the military sent medical personnel from the 118 service to the scene, to whom the man was entrusted for treatment. The woman did not intend to file a complaint and reported that she had called 112 only because she was worried about the situation that had arisen.
