La Civil protection of Region Campania has extended the current weather alert with a Yellow criticality for rain and thunderstorms until 9am tomorrow morning, Sunday 24 September. The rainfall, at the moment, is causing - as stated in a note - flooding and critical situations in much of the Campania.
Teams of volunteers, in coordination with the Regional Operations Room of Civil Protection, are in action in all the territories involved. The situations for which support from volunteer organizations was necessary at the moment are Bacoli, Torre del Greco, Cercola, Terzigno, Pollena Trocchia and Somma Vesuviana in the province of NAPLES; Caserta, Carinaro, Casal Di Principe, Macerata Campana, Portico of Caserta, Lusciano, Santa Maria Capua Vetare and Piana di Monteverna, in the province of Caserta; Solopaca and Pontelandolfo in the province of Benevento.
Scattered rainfall, including showers and sudden, intense, rapidly developing thunderstorms, is still possible across the region.
