“Drops of innocence. Beyond prison, paths and stories of new citizenship”: this is the theme of the meeting that will be held today, at 19.30:XNUMX p.m., at the Provincial Auditorium of Oliveto Citra (Salerno).
The panel is the result of a common intent between the Premio Sele d'Oro Mezzogiorno, now in its 39th edition, and Luca Caiazzo, aka Lucariello, a rapper who has been working as a trainer in juvenile prisons for years.
The aim is to open a debate on issues related to juvenile detention, recently brought to the attention of the general public thanks to the Rai fiction “Mare fuori” and due to recent news events, through the virtuous experience of the national project “Permanent cultural presence in juvenile penal institutions”, curated by the CCO Association – Crisis as opportunity.
The project – which sees Lucariello as a trainer – was born within the IPM of Airola, in the province of Benevento, in 2013. Over the years it has involved artists of international caliber, including the percussionist Ciccio Merolla and Raiz, former voice of Almamegretta and protagonist of Mare Fuori, who have been able to put their professionalism to use to tell and bring out the voice of those who have no voice.
A daily, real “Mare fuori”, made of weekly and constant workshops, relationships of trust, professionals and training, a constant dialogue with civil society, artists and penal institutions, first and foremost the management of the IPM and the Juvenile Court, whose role is fundamental.
In addition to Lucariello, Raiz and Ciccio Merolla, tomorrow's meeting will be attended by Margherita Di Giglio, supervisory magistrate at the Juvenile Court of Naples and Marianna Adanti, director of the Airola Juvenile Penal Institute and the Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi prison.
The meeting will explore the experiences of artists and institutions that work daily with children, often minors and with difficult stories, through culture, music, theater, words and images.
A bridge between reality and fiction, but above all an open window on the role of culture in the recovery and prevention of deviance. In addition, from 21.30:XNUMX pm, in Piazza Europa, Lucariello, Ciccio Merolla and Raiz will perform. During the concert, the “digital performance” of the cartoonists Pino Cuozzo and Fabiana Fiengo. Presented by the journalist Rossella Pisaturo.
