The forest rangers and the police of the station Marigliano, in collaboration with the veterinarians of the ASL Napoli 3sud, have placed under seizure an illegal laboratory with an attached warehouse in the municipality of Marigliano.

The laboratory was used for the processing of beef offal for the preparation of 'pere e o' musso', one of the cornerstones of Neapolitan street food.

A 33-year-old is in trouble, with over 16.000 euros in fines and a report, in addition to the seizure of about a ton of beef and pork offal ready to be marketed. The man, a resident of Afragola, did not have a trade license and had set up a meat processing laboratory without health authorization.

The blitz by the Carabinieri allowed them to surprise the 33-year-old while he was processing the meat, which was found to be untraceable, and also allowed them to discover a very precarious situation from a health and hygiene point of view.

A ton of offal, worth 22 thousand euros, was placed under administrative and health seizure and sent for destruction by a specialized company.
