It was a sincere and touching conversation between two mothers. It seemed like they had known each other forever.

I asked if I could call her Giorgia and she replied “of course, you have to call me Giorgia.” Then he asked me what he could do for me.

I didn't hesitate for a moment: I want to meet you and you have to help me prevent other mothers from experiencing tragedies like this. We cannot allow crime to win. We must protect our children, the future we would like for our country.

The premier he called the cell phone directly Daniela Di Maggio, the mother of Giovanbattista Cutolo, the talented musician killed by a sixteen year old boy in Piazza Municipio in Naples.

Daniela told the daily newspaper Il Mattino the content of the conversation: "The phone lit up and I answered, it took me a while to understand that it was really Meloni. She called me from her private phone, Giogiò's death left her breathless."

On the same day he also received a call from the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi. Daniela adds: “I feel the State strongly beside me, I also want to thank the police commissioner Maurizio Agricola and the head of the mobile squad Alfredo Fabbrocini. I owe them if today I feel a little less alone”.

She still doesn't know when the meeting with President Meloni will take place, but she is convinced that it will happen soon. Daniela has a clear idea of what topics she will address during the meeting with the Prime Minister.

Punishability is the first point: “Whoever commits a crime must serve a sentence. Is it right that nothing happens just because he is a minor? At 16, and even before, you can be an expert killer. The person who killed my son was a habitual criminal. I want a more severe law in the name of Giovanbattista”.

And he makes an appeal to President Sergio Mattarella: “My son deserves a medal for civil valor. The State must recognize his sacrifice. He lost his life and we must consider him a hero.”

Giovanbattista, or Giogiò as his friends liked to call him, was a talent in the world of music. He was a serious, ambitious, helpful boy, ready to sacrifice himself so as not to bother anyone.

He was independent, but always present in the family life. Daniela says: “He was a little jewel. I told Giorgia: my boy was a diamond that was destroyed by a stone. It's difficult, but I will find the courage to move on. I owe it to him and to all the young people like him. No more lives broken at the hands of those who deserve severe punishments”.

Daniela thanks in particular the mayor Manfredi and the prefect Palomba: “They did everything they could to make me feel solidarity and closeness at a time when I felt like I was going crazy. The city mourning is a just recognition of Giovanbattista’s memory, but it’s not enough.”

Daniela asks everyone to participate in the funeral scheduled for Wednesday at 15pm in the church of Gesù Nuovo: “There must be law enforcement, carabinieri, police, traffic police. I want it to be like a state funeral. It would be nice to see general involvement.

Furthermore, I would like to permanently block videos and Tik Toks that glorify violence and refer to the murder of my son. For much less, users' profiles are blocked and deleted. How is it possible that those criminals can publish what they want undisturbed?

Daniela is already thinking about creating a Foundation to promote meetings and initiatives for legality: "We must support schools. We should guarantee methodologies, targeted paths and material to educate about citizenship and civil coexistence. Only by starting a serious prevention campaign can we fight juvenile deviance."

The woman reports that the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, also called Giovanbattista's mother. An autopsy on the musician's body is scheduled for today. Then, on Wednesday at 15:XNUMX p.m., the funeral will be celebrated by the archbishop in the church of Gesù Nuovo in Naples. Dominic Battle. For that day the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, has proclaimed a day of mourning throughout the city.
