The 6th edition of the Concetta Barra Award, named after the ambassador of the Neapolitan language and culture, and specifically Procida, in the world, will start on Wednesday 19.00 September at XNUMX:XNUMX pm in Piazza Marina Grande. Procida, the island where she was born and where she took her first steps as an artist. Genuine, expressive and sunny, she was able to pass on and above all reinvent the great theatrical and musical tradition of her land. Admired by De Simone who wanted her back on stage, after decades of abandonment, esteemed by Eduardo who hired her for many of his comedies, she concluded her career in shows with her son Peppe Barra. The Neapolitan actor, her worthy heir, was able to elaborate the great teachings of Concetta through his singular talent, becoming the great master of the scene that the world knows.
As usual, the event will open on Wednesday 6 September at 19.00:XNUMX pm in Piazza Marina Grande with the International Conference, this year entitled Families of Artists, dedicated to the great theatrical families, Neapolitan and otherwise, who have made the history of Italian theatre. This year the awards will be given to the director Roberto Andò, the journalist Titti Marrone, the actor Silvio Orlando, the young actor Alessandro Orrei, the writer, journalist and essayist Elisabetta Rasy, the singer Tosca and the actress Imma Villa. Following at 21.00:2 pm it will be the refined interpreter Tosca, singer and actress, an eclectic individuality with an innate propensity for research and experimentation, to close the XNUMX days of the event with the show Sto core mio – Notturno napoletano. A recital of sounds and words dedicated to Naples, with which she pays homage to Neapolitan music.
Revisiting great classics, which will allow the artist to play with the ductility and beauty of her voice and the versatility of her interpretation. Accompanied on stage by Emanuele Buzi, on the mandolin, Vladimiro Buzi on the mandola and mandolin, Massimo De Lorenzi on the guitar, Ermanno Dodaro on the double bass, Giovanni Famulari on the cello, piano and voices, Alessia Salvuccci percussion.
