Gerardo Buonocore (Artistic Director of Gustaminori): “Gustaminori is not a festival. Gustaminori is theater, music, technological innovation, narration of current events. We are at 27 years of shows in the village of Minori. The village itself becomes a theater from September 22nd to 24th with five scenes in five important sites such as the Central Nave of the Basilica of Santa Trofimena, where we will have Jesus, while the final scene will take place on the sea. We will also have the triumph of the musical tradition of the Coast. There will be no lack of technological innovation with the exciting effects of video-mapping. We will also dedicate a scene to religious fundamentalism and denied faith”.
From the high alleys to the sea it will be all open-air theater. Tourists, citizens, all those who will walk through the streets of Minori, will cross the five scenes immersing themselves in a unique theatrical atmosphere. Then you can follow the Viue dell'Arte that will allow, through a precise itinerary, to see all the scenes.

Five scenes in five different sites will make up a single show, while the Vie del Gusto will give the opportunity to appreciate landscapes, paths and gastronomic tradition.
Andrea Reale (mayor of Minori on the Amalfi Coast): “Minori hotels full, thousands of tourists expected even at the end of September and the beginning of October, especially English, Dutch, Asian and American. From September 22nd the great Gustaminori festival that will see art and taste together. The village becomes an open-air theater with many professional actors and many extras who will be in all the alleys of Minori”.
Extraordinary trips by sea by TravelMar to and from Salerno and to and from Minori are planned. The scenes will be repeated until midnight every day. It will be an immersion in the beauty of art and nature.
“It will be three days of immersion in beauty in all the meanings of the word beautiful. The beauty of the arts, the beauty of taste, the beauty of nature trails. We will start on September 22nd and continue every day until September 24th. The 2023 edition of the Gusta Minori kermesse will have a strong title: “Mystico”.
We have reached 27 years of shows: a milestone that fills us with great satisfaction. The identity of the event as a cultural project at the service of the territory has remained unchanged over the years, aimed at bringing theater, poetry, music, dance and art “en plein air”, but also to places of artistic-monumental importance in the country, with an ever-innovative and almost reckless connotation. The theme of this edition is dedicated to the “meeting-clash” between the sacred and the profane. A challenge that seeks to investigate between the two heterogeneous dimensions, in their broadest meanings, and through suggestions and food for thought, give space to a great adventure of the spirit.
Five scenes, in five different sites of the Borgo, on the same evening and for the entire duration of the event. The five scenes will have the formula of duration of about 30 minutes each and will be repeated constantly until midnight. Extraordinary maritime connections of TravelMar are planned to and from Salerno.
In the central nave of the Basilica of Santa Trofimena – it will be “Jesus” with the popular and musical tradition of the Amalfi Coast and the technology of video – mapping that will give great emotions”. This was stated by Gerardo Buonocore, Artistic Director of GustaMinori.
Five scenes in five different locations. The entire Borgo will be a Borgo – Teatro.
“Five scenes on the program, world premieres, in five different locations, five splendid ideal settings, in which to stage the various performances that will form a single, great show.
In the central nave of the eighteenth-century Basilica of Santa Trofimena – Buonocore continued – we start with the representation of “Jesus”, a theatrical and multimedia reproduction. A unique work of its kind, through sacred content. The show aims to interpret the musical, religious and popular tradition of our land, with a close correlation between the various sounds, video images, reciting and solo voices. A story told musically and scenographically also through video-mapping”.
In Calata Ponte the show continues with “Il peccato”, a theatrical and musical performance directed by Gennaro Monti. While in Largo Solaio de' pastai the scene dedicated to fundamentalism and the condemnation of denied faith.
“The sacred and the profane intertwine and contrast in a fast and extremely rhythmic staging that puts on stage three deadly sins: envy, gluttony and lust, drawing from the texts of the great popular tradition. – Buonocore continued – from the stories of oral tradition and from the legends of Campania that delve into past life, and mix “holiness with Santeria”.
Lucia Amato is entrusted with the direction and direction of the other three scenes of the itinerant journey: “Autodafè” in Largo Solaio de' pastai, a show dedicated to fundamentalism and the condemnation of denied faith.
In the sumptuous and classical atmosphere of Palazzo Gambardella, along the main street, we will have the representation of the “God enlisted”. At the dock, on the sea the final scene in a suggestive context.
“The Gott mit uns of the Nazis, the “punciuta” of the mafiosi, faith in support of crime. A self-interested reinterpretation of the divine message according to criminal purposes. The artistic journey ends on the dock in a suggestive setting between the sea and an enchanted landscape. “Another road….”: the title of the last scene. Faith as research, faith in the journey. With this show we intend to highlight the search for the evolution of life and the rediscovery of a consistent part of it in cosmic evolution”.
Minori records a boom in international presences.
“Minori has a boom in international tourism. Reservations even in October from English, Dutch, Asians, Americans. Those who come to Minori even at the end of September will find theater, taste, sea, nature trails – said Andrea Reale, mayor of Minori, a charming village on the Amalfi Coast – and will find above all Gustaminori with its twenty-seventh edition. The entire Borgo will be a theater with actors, extras, the Streets of Art and the Streets of Taste. Thousands of attendees are expected from all over Italy and beyond. The choice to move Gustaminori to September 22nd goes in the direction of deseasonalization. A few years ago, as part of Gustaminori, we brought the typical Christmas traditions of the Coast to August. The effect was there and therefore, even if with courage, we are moving the event to the end of September, in the transition from Summer to Autumn. A few hours after the Summer Solstice, Gustaminori 2023 will begin. A sort of inauguration of an autumn tourist season. This is a revolution with courage that we are introducing to the market”.
So on September 22nd Gustaminori 2023 will begin, which will see the Vie dell'Arte and the Vie del Gusto together with multiple live scenes which will make up a single great show. An event that every year attracts thousands of tourists and is among the main events on the Amalfi Coast. Gustaminori 2023 is organized by Scabec Regione Campania, Comune di Minori, ProLoco.
