Franco Migliacci, the lyricist behind classics such as "Nel blu dipinto di blu", "C'era un ragazzo…", "Tintarella di luna" and "Una rotanda sul mare", has died at the age of 92.

THE TURNING POINT WITH "Nel blu DIPINTO DI blu" - The turning point, however, came with "Nel blu dipinto di blu." A bad day in 1957 gave Migliacci the idea of "telling the world to go to hell," painting "his hands and face blue" with the intent of disappearing "Nel blu dipinto di blu." A logic that Modugno liked from the start.
The song later won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1958, and then came in third at the Eurovision Song Contest. He died in a Roman clinic, but was originally from Mantua.
