It was him, in the very early 60s, who convinced the Italian record company RCA to believe in me and wrote the most important songs of my career for me: from 'Fatti mandare dalla mamma…', to 'C'era un ragazzo…', 'In ginocchio da te', 'La Fisarmonica' and many other songs up to 'Uno su mille' which, in the 80s, brought me back to success after a long period of crisis.

I will be forever grateful to him and I am certain that the hundreds of songs he wrote, including the legendary 'Nel blu dipinto di blu' composed with Modugno, will keep him alive in all of our memories."

THE TURNING POINT WITH "Nel blu DIPINTO DI blu" - The turning point, however, came with "Nel blu dipinto di blu." A bad day in 1957 gave Migliacci the idea of "telling the world to go to hell," painting "his hands and face blue" with the intent of disappearing "Nel blu dipinto di blu." A logic that Modugno liked from the start.

The song later won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1958, and then came in third at the Eurovision Song Contest. He died in a Roman clinic, but was originally from Mantua. He was born on October 28, 1930. He studied in Florence and finally moved to the capital. His family was by his side until the end. He married Gloria Wall, with whom he had three children: Francesco Junior, Ernesto, and Laura.
