“An exemplary law, a serious reform” of juvenile justice because “a sixteen-year-old who shoots in cold blood, like a killer, should be judged like an adult”.
Daniela Di Maggio, the mother of Giovanbattista Cutolo, the 24-year-old musician killed at dawn on August 31 in Piazza Municipio in Naples, is once again asking for a change in the laws on the punishability of minors. Interviewed on Estate in diretta, on RaiUno, Giovanbattista's mother asks the media not to call her son's murderer "boy."
“Do it out of respect for me, the boy is the one who rides his bike in the park, not the one who shoots my boyfriend a third shot in the chest, like hitmen do”. Daniela Di Maggio renews her appeal: “We need a major reform of justice, to lower the age of punishment. Whoever killed my son must be tried as an adult, his was a brutal crime that must be paid for without any reduction in sentence. Just as there are no reductions for my life sentence, which began on August 31”.
