Naples: RinascitaFest kicks off in Pomigliano d'Arco, a festival dedicated to Marcello Colasurdo

The second edition of RinascitaFest, the Pomigliano d'Arco festival focusing on politics, culture, cinema, and music, is underway.

The event will take place from September 24 to October 1 in the area of ​​the former Circumvesuviana station on Via Roma. This year the main theme will be “Terra Bene Comune – Fight against the climate crisis and social injustices”.

The first day of RinascitaFest 2023 will be dedicated to the memory of Marcello Colasurdo, who passed away prematurely on July 5th. The evening will be divided into two parts: starting at 20 pm, “Marcello’s cultural legacy” will be analyzed through the testimonies and reflections of Laura Angiulli, theater director and screenwriter, Giovanni Vacca, associate professor of Ethnomusicology at UniRomaTre University, the mayors of Mercogliano and Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo Vittorio D'Alessio and Luigi Marciano, and the former mayor of Pomigliano d'Arco Michele Caiazzo. The event will be coordinated by Marco Melito of the Rinascita board.

The Tribute to Marcello Colasurdo concert will follow with many artists and musicians friends of the “King of Tammurriata”.

There will be over thirty artists who will alternate on the stage of the RinascitaFest including Colasurdo's artistic son Vincenzo Ciccarelli, his first historical group E' Zezi Gruppo Operaio, Daniele Sepe, Marco Zurzolo and many other exponents of popular music from all over Italy.
