There is another challenge being played out in the centre-right in addition to the political one. This time it is football related and it concerns the 'azzurri' in Parliament.

Today, they say, a real split would have taken place, just to mark a term that has often marked the history of various parties. Club Napoli he 'split himself'.

In the sense that now there are two of them. One is the historical one, the 'Napoli 'Parliament Club', which with official voting, which began at 11 this morning and ended at 15.30 pm, elected this afternoon as the new president the Northern League MP Gianluca Cantalamessa, and the other, renamed 'Club Napoli Montecitorio', which does not identify with the first and wanted as its leader the exponent of Fdi, Gerolamo Cangiano, known as Gimmi.

Until a few days ago it seemed that everything was going smoothly and that an agreement could be reached. Then things changed, the internal balances were upset.

And this explains the 'breakup' with all the war between 'splitters' and not, parliamentarians in office and especially former ones. Between mutual accusations, the climate remains heated.

And at the moment, it is not known how to get out of it. The case of Cangiano is particularly strange.

Up until the very end, the 'Melonian' was in the running for the presidency of the 'Naples Club Parliament': by August 31, the deadline for submitting candidacies, his name had in fact been officially presented, together with that of Cantalamessa. Cangiano then apparently decided to step aside and create a new 'club' with a group of parliamentarians: among them, Patriarca, Amato, Auriemma, Rubano, Schifone, Schiano, Russo Tania and Di Sarno.

Meanwhile, the 'Napoli Club Parlamento', led until last month by former minister Gaetano Quagliariello, continued on its path and confirmed the ballot boxes for the choice of its president: out of 77 members, 40 participated in the vote (two blank votes) and Salvini's Cantalamessa (34 votes) won the derby against Cangiano (4 votes). Now in the Transatlantic, in Montecitorio, we await the next match of a game that is still wide open.
