A new fire has broken out in the area of the former fruit and vegetable market on Via Aulisio in Naples, a few steps from the Centro Direzionale and the Holiday Inn hotel.
A column of black smoke rose into the sky as a product of the burning of plastics and waste present in tons. Alarmed guests and employees of the hotel, worried about having to breathe toxic fumes.
"This is not the first time that something like this has happened in an area used as a huge illegal dump and as a makeshift shelter for the desperate. We need to proceed with the immediate reclamation of the entire area and plan for its definitive redevelopment, without which we will still see similar episodes."
These are the words of the deputy of the Green Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who received the report of the fire from some employees of the hotel structure.
